Te

Te: Extraverted Thinking is characterized by a focus on the utility of information in the outside world. Their curiosity lies in how people and objects can be used and implemented. This causes them to value effectiveness and consistency over exploration, though that does not make them any less curious. A notable Extraverted Thinking type who showcases Te’s natural curiosity is Carl Sagan.

The notable archetype of the Te user is the indomitable path-forger, characterized by a goal-oriented approach to problems due to their systematic, efficiency-oriented thinking. This is where we get archetypal Napoleon and Julius Caesar figures. This can make the Te user either highly productive or, quite oppositely, lazy. This is because, when productive, they are able to finish goals at an astounding speed due to their nature. On the other hand, they may use their knack for practicality and utility to do less work, which for some can make them lazy. This usually happens when the Te user has nothing to gain and/or is uninterested in the task at hand.

It is important to note that productivity has little correlation with a person’s MBTI type and is linked to other typological factors that make some types tend to be more productive than other types on average.
